L'Aperol Spritz was born in Venice in 1919 and has established itself as the symbol of Italian aperitif. This orange cocktail with generous bubbles seduces with its lightness (8% alcohol) and its beautiful citrus bitterness. The official recipe respects a 3-2-1 ratio that guarantees the perfect balance between Prosecco, Aperol and sparkling water.
Preparation
Fill a large wine glass with large ice cubes to the top.
Pour the Prosecco first by slightly tilting the glass.
Add Aperol.
Top up with soda water.
Mix very gently (1 spoonful).
Garnish with an orange washer on the edge of the glass.
Serve immediately.
The official Aperol ratio is 3-2-1 (3 Prosecco, 2 Aperol, 1 sparkling water). Always use a cool quality Prosecco — that's 50% of the cocktail.
