Pina Colada is the official cocktail of Puerto Rico, created in 1954 by Ramon Lopez Irizarry. This creamy blend of white rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice instantly evokes the beaches of the Caribbean. Soft, fruity and creamy, it is served cold and transports each throat to a tropical paradise.
Preparation
Pour the white rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice into a shaker.
Add ice cream or looted ice depending on the desired texture.
Shake energetically for 15 seconds.
Pour into a large hurricane or tumbler type glass.
Decorate with a slice of pineapple, cherry or tropical leaf.
For a more creamy version, mix all the blender ingredients with looted ice. Use fresh pineapple juice for more taste and less added sugar.
